Digital Learning Facilities

IT INFRASTRUCTURE:

Our institution has continuously emphasized on increasing and updating the IT facilities. We have three computer laboratories- two for the Department of Computer Science and Applications and one for the Department of Commerce. Additionally, there is a computerized English Language Lab. The college gives a lot of significance to e-learning and up gradation of transfer speed, availability, and additionally different enhancements.

List of available IT infrastructure:

·         Internet connections leading to a total bandwidth of 300 Mbps.

·         A digital English Language Lab with Sanako Study 1200 DLL software which we have upgraded to the latest version 9.3.

·         We have a total of 228 computers (=205 desktop + 23 laptops) with access to the internet. Out of these, 184 (=174 desktop + 10 laptops) are accessible to the students

·         Number of Projectors =17

·         Number of printers= 48

·         Scanners = 8

·         Xerox Machine +RISO = 2+1 = 3

·         UPS (24/20 min backup) / Invertors =7

·         Portable UPS = 30

·         Generators = 04

 

ICT TOOLS IN USE:

·         Virtual classrooms

Use of Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, online whiteboards, and screen sharing to allow educators to hold live lectures, virtual office hours, and discussions withstudents.

·         Digital textbooks

Also known as e-textbooks or e-texts, these are electronic forms of traditional, printed textbooks. Students can download a digital textbook or access it online on devices like Chromebooks, iPads, computers, and their phones.

·         Collaborative tools

Allow students to work together on projects, share resources, and communicate with each other. Examples include Google Docs, online forums, and wikis. WhatsApp and Telegram is used to complement the teaching -learning.

·         Learning management systems

Moodle and Google classrooms: Used to streamline the process of sharing lecture notes, presentations, video lectures and web-links of academic content as well as for creating and distributing assignments.

·         Digital English Language Lab:

We have a Digital Language Lab for English since 2011. It has Sanako Study 1200 Digital Language Lab Software with a licence of 21 users (01 Server + 20 Clients).
